Citizens State Bank, Groveton traces its origin to June 9, 1902 when the Comptroller of the Currency issued a charter to the First National Bank of Groveton, Texas. First National continued its operation until September 16, 1972 when the bank's name was changed to First Bank in Groveton under a charter issued by the Texas Department of Banking. The bank's name was changed to Republic Bank Groveton in 1981, First Bank in 1982, and finally to Citizens State Bank in February, 2008 via the merging with the Citizens State Bank, Corrigan.  Citizens State Bank is located at First & Devine Street in Groveton, its address, since 1960.
